Thai Union highlights innovation at Thaifex 2018

24 May 2018, Bangkok — Thai Union Group PCL, one of the world’s leading seafood companies, will bring its award-winning Yellowfin Tuna Slices to Thaifex - World of Food Asia 2018 from May 29th to June 2nd.

Yellowfin Tuna Slices are the world’s first pre-sliced, pre-seasoned tuna made from whole yellowfin tuna loins, offering a healthy, convenient alternative to traditional luncheon meats for sandwiches, salads, wraps and other culinary offerings.

Yellowfin Tuna Slices are one of the innovative products developed by Thai Union’s Global Innovation Incubator. In March, Yellowfin Tuna Slices won the 2018 Seafood Excellence Award in the Best New Foodservice Product category at Seafood Expo North America held in Boston. Additionally, it has been chosen as a finalist for the 2018 Seafood Excellence Global Awards at Seafood Expo Global in Brussels in April.

Thiraphong Chansiri, CEO of Thai Union, said the presentation of innovative products at Thaifex would reflect the company’s concentration on innovation by utilizing patent-pending technology to deliver healthy, value-added products with high nutritional values to serve consumers around the world.

The sliceable tuna is just one of the innovations Thai Union will be showcasing. Also on hand will be a newly-developed tuna sausage that is high in Omega 3, and offers an excellent source of lean protein. The Yellowfin Tuna Slices and tuna sausages will be joined by many other tasty Thai Union seafood products at booth #C3-N01, Challenger Hall 3, Impact Muang Thong Thani.

During the five-day expo, Thai Union will present its sustainability strategy, SeaChange®, and display a caravan of seafood products including tuna, shrimp, lobster, salmon, sardines and crab meat in addition to Yellowfin Tuna Slices and tuna sausage. Among Thai Union’s brands showcased at the 126-square-meter booth are SEALECT, Monori, Qfresh, T Time and King Oscar.
