1997

Acquired Its First Overseas Brand, Chicken of the Sea

Thai Union made its first international investment by acquiring Tri-Union Seafoods, LLC, the operator of Chicken of the Sea, the third-largest seafood brand in the U.S.

2003

Acquired 100% of Empress International Ltd. to Enhance Seafood Distribution Capabilities in the U.S.

Expanded Brand Presence in the U.S. Market

Thai Union established Chicken of the Sea Frozen Foods, a brand specializing in frozen seafood products, managed by Tri-Union Frozen Products Inc., an importer and distributor of frozen seafood.

To expand its production base in Asia, Thai Union invested in Yueh Chyang Canned Food Company Limited, a Vietnam-based producer and exporter of canned seafood, and Avanti Feeds Limited,an Indian producer of shrimp feed and frozen shrimp.
