Thai Union Group Welcomes Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra at Songkhla Factory

Songkhla – 17 February 2025 – Thai Union Group PCL, the world’s seafood leader, welcomed Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and members of the Cabinet to the company’s factory in Songkhla, Thailand.

The delegation was led through factory by Mr. Thiraphong Chansiri, CEO of Thai Union Group, Mr. Rittirong Boonmechote, President of Global Frozen and Related Units, and Mrs. Orawan Siriwarasanti, Managing Director of Thai Union Seafood Co., Ltd. Thai Union’s executives and the dignitaries used this opportunity to discuss the strategies needed to strengthen global competitiveness and the challenges facing the seafood sector and opportunities to address these.

The Prime Minister was joined by Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor, Mr. Chotnarin Kerdsom, Governor of Songkhla, Mr. Bancha Sukkaew, Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, Mr. Ekaniti Romyanon, Inspector General of the Ministry of Industry, and other key officials, stakeholders, and over 200 members of the media.

Thai Union Seafood Songkhla facility, established in 1996, specializes in frozen seafood processing. With an annual production capacity of 18,000 tons and a workforce of over 1,500 employees, the facility produces a wide range of products, including cooked shrimp, sushi shrimp, and breaded shrimp, for both domestic and international markets.
