ROBERT A. BURNS, Ph.D.
Robert A. Burns, PhD, is Vice President of the Health and Nutrition Policy of Grocery Manufacturers Association in Washington, DC, effective November 2011.
Dr. Burns’ professional experience has focused on health and nutrition based issues. He also provides technical support and advice to member companies in area relating to nutrition labeling and standards, biotechnology and nutrition.
During his career, Robert has worked for a number of food companies including Cadbury/Cadbury Schweppes and Mead Johnson Nutritionals. In addition, he established Nutrition Implications, a nutrition consultancy.
Robert has published 18 peer reviewed research papers and numerous other research papers and articles, and has been invited to present many lectures and seminars on health and nutrition topics.
Robert has a BS degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry, both from Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
