11 December 2019, SAMUT SAKHON — Approximately 70 students from Wat Shepakow School recently learned about the importance of mangrove restoration during a field trip organized by Thai Union Group PCL to the Mangrove Forest Natural Education Center in Samut Sakhon. The students received a lesson on how they can help protect mangrove forests and how plastic waste in the ocean affects the environment, coastal ecosystems and communities.

Children also learned how to protect the ocean and mitigate marine pollution. They waded into the mud and collected litter along the coastline in oxo-biodegradable bags. At the end of the day, the students had gathered 72 kilograms of rubbish.
